A favorite of the Accompanist! Why? Well, because these two zanies have inspired the Accompanist since the days when he would listen to their nightly broadcast on WRC radio,

using his little transistor radio under the covers (their show lasted past bedtime). Ed's Mom knew the Accompanist's Dad through church, and Willard was always a stylistic role model, whether as an aspiring freelance talent with clever ads in the Union directory, or in his various character incarnations (including Bozo the Clown®). Their pacing, good natured self deprecating dry humor, and jovial attitudes became the models for much of The Accompanist's later work, including Singing Telegrams and his own "AM Mayhem" radio morning show on WXIT Blowing Rock, NC.
